Babies and Boots [Summit NJ Newborn Photographer]

What a crazy few days. I’m late with the M family sneak peak because I had my own family drama to deal with. My 3 year old was jumping on a trampoline with her sister and some friends when one of them landed on her right leg. She was in serious pain so we took her to the emergency room to make sure that nothing was broken. We waited for four hours and the doc said the x-ray was clean. She still wouldn’t walk on it so yesterday I brought her to an orthopedic doctor and, after poking and feeling around, he determined that she had a small fracture somewhere. So she was fitted for a boot. Today was a little difficult at first. She still wouldn’t walk on it so I had to carry her everywhere. But, towards the end of the day, she was walking and hobbling along. She gets so proud of herself for walking. Poor baby. It’ll stay on for about 4 weeks.

Needless to say, I am a little bit behind. The M family was so gracious from the minute I walked in. I was greeted by Thomas and Sofie. Such sweet little kids. Then I got to meet baby Gabby. Another sweetheart. So calm and easygoing. I had a great time meeting everyone.

She was born 3 weeks early so I should have known she likes to do things on her own time. Miss Leila was a fighter today. Mom and I did everything we could to get her to fall asleep but she had other plans. We were at it about 90 minutes when she nodded off. Just enough time to get these. Sooo sweet!

Look at that gorgeous head of hair! And how great is her nursery? I love the design on the wall. Mom has great style though. She is the fabulously talented person behind Concepts in Bloom, a wedding planning service that is second to none. Check out her website and you can see some of her amazing work.

It was just one of those days. As if 100 degree temperatures weren’t enough, the next door neighbor’s were having their shed knocked down during our session. We wanted to use the backyard but the noise was too much for little Noah. So we had to improvise and, in the end, it all worked out. Both Sophia and Noah greeted me warmly when I walked into their house. They called me nina, which mom said means little girl (if I remember correctly). They spoke Portuguese. What a beautiful language!

How beautiful is this little girl? And those curls?? Just like my Jaime.

And Noah has the best eyelashes. Why is it that the boys get ‘em.

I love these next two images. I know that most parents want to see their little ones smiling but there is something about a pouty face that just gets me. I have been really loving black and white lately (as you can probably tell) and these images were just perfect for it.

Saying Goodbye [Union County Family Photographer]

Tonight’s family session was a lot of fun (if only it wasn’t 100 degrees!) Actually, I was a bit nervous it was going to get rained out. The sun finally came out around 3:00 and things were looking up.

I met the B family at Cedar Brook Park in Plainfield. In a few short days they’ll be moving to Iowa, but before they say goodbye, they needed some family pictures. Dad is a pastor and he’ll be joining a new church in August. Both father and son were so good about being out in the heat. They did it all for their BEAUTIFUL mom. Doesn’t that color blue look gorgeous on her?

Good luck with your move B family. It was a pleasure to meet you and I wish you all the best on your new journey!!

Christmas in July [Holiday Mini Sessions]

I know, it’s waaay too early to start thinking about the holidays but believe it or not, I am already starting to book up.

FYI ~ The rest of the summer is booked. I am now scheduling sessions for September. I will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as well as Saturday. I will not be working Sundays this year. I really need to set special time aside for my family. I hope you all understand. I already have quite a few Saturdays booked already into November so if you are interested in setting something up email me ASAP.

I will be offering holiday mini sessions this year on October, 16, 2010 as well as November 13, 2010. Mini sessions will be held outdoors as long as it does not rain. The rain date for both sessions will be the next day.

Here are the details …

Silver ~ $300 (includes 6 images on a CD) Book before September 3, 2010 and receive a $75 print credit.
Gold ~ $400 (includes all of your images on a CD) Book before September 3, 2010 and receive a $100 print credit.

The print credit can be used towards the purchase of cards or gift prints. Here are the designs you will be able to choose from.

* the cards shown above are just samples using past client images.

Each session will be 20 minutes. Mini sessions are ideal for up to 3 children or small families. Because of the limited amount of time, they are not ideal for large families. The times available are 9:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:00. Depending on the response, I will add more times. In order to book one of the spots you will need to send in a $150 deposit. Deposits are non-refundable so just make sure you are available on that date and that time.

Bella Donna Beauty

I have to admit something – I am an idiot. I did a fabulous Bella Donna session today and am just getting ready to post the amazing sneak peak images and I can’t remember my log in for the Bella Donna blog. I know, I know! I’ll keep investigating but I wanted to show you some of these anyway. Bella Donna sessions do not have to be boudoir sessions. I want women to do these sessions for themselves, to feel beautiful, to feel confident, to get out from behind the camera and celebrate who they are. This mom did exactly that! Isn’t she stunning?

Girls Night [Florham Park NJ Photographer]

After tonight’s session I think I might change my focus and photograph only 12 year old girls. I had so much fun with Cassie! She is gorgeous and it was so easy. The first thing Cassie did right was bring along her BFF Kelly.

Having a friend along can really help to ease the tension and anxiety that some kids have about getting their picture taken ~ especially a 12 year-old. Cassie and Kelly are having a sleepover tonight and took some time out of their strictly scheduled plans to come hang with me. I’m so glad they did.

Cassie’s smile is going to change a bit in the next few weeks. She’s getting braces. It’s gotta be a big deal when you’re that young but so many kids have them. I probably should have them now! I can’t imagine how she’s going to look when they come off. She already looks way older than 12.

And this … I mean seriously!! America’s Next Top Model ~ look no more! STUNNING!

Cassie, if you’re still up ~ you are a beautiful young lady. It was a pleasure to meet you. Have fun tonight!!

11 Days Old [Morris County NJ Newborn Photographer]

We had a little bit of a rough start but things turned out just fine in the end. Poor William was uncomfortable because he hadn’t pooped in 2 days. I joked with mom that he was going to do it during our shoot. And guess what??? He did!!! I was so excited though. Afterwards he was totally chill.

Kim, your little boy is beautiful. Thanks so much for inviting me into your home. I had a blast today!!

The Great Wall [NJ Family Photographer]

I was so excited to see the B family yesterday. They just moved recently and are settling in to their new home (which is beautiful by the way). It’s a bit of a hike from Florham Park but such a scenic ride. I passed some really great spots for pictures!

When I arrived, everyone was in a mad rush to get ready and I chuckled a little inside. Picture day can be so stressful for families. I can totally relate. Moms just want everything to go right and the kids are usually groaning because all they want to do is play. Add to that 100 degree temperatures and things can go soooo wrong. Thankfully the B family were troopers. They did whatever I asked and it was a blast.

Mom is a friend of mine and it’s always a little intimidating doing pictures for friends. Plus, she’s super creative herself so I felt a bit nervous in the beginning. This is one of my favorite shots. Gorgeous family!

There is a great rock wall in front of the house that has ferns growing through it. I love places that are interesting and have a lot of texture so we did a few pictures in front of that wall.

Then we headed inside for some shots in the kids bedrooms. They each have their own theme. Tyler has a beach room. Haley sleeps in the big apple and Lexi nods off next to the Eiffel tower. So cool! I am going to post those images a little later today. Here’s one more for now. Thanks Melony!!!!
