Thanks so much for stopping by!

If you're here to catch a sneak peak of your session, scroll down to see some of your fabulous images.

If this is your first time, let me tell you a little about myself. I am a mom to two beautiful little girls (although they're growing up way too fast). My style of photography is simple, modern and fun. I prefer to capture children doing the things that make them happy, even if that means jumping in puddles or searching for bugs.

I want all of my sessions to be memorable so we'll take our time and just hang out. I'm not an expert, I didn't go to a fancy school for photography. I just love to take pictures. That's really all I know how to do ...  well, okay so it's not the only thing. My daughters will tell you that I make awesome chocolate chip pancakes.

This is my space to share recent sessions, dish about my family, and update you with any news or information. If you'd like to get in touch, please feel free to contact me.

Beautiful Weather, Beautiful Baby [Point Pleasant Photographer]

What a glorious day! Windows open, no jacket, the warmth of the sun on my arm as I’m driving on the parkway. I couldn’t ask for a better day. Even Willa was having a great day. This gorgeous little girl is 4 1/2 months old. She lives down by the Jersey Shore, a place I am very familiar with. I’ve spent so many summers on the beach in Point Pleasant. My mom’s sisters live there and a bunch of my cousins, which is so funny because it turns out that Willa’s mom knows them all. I swear this world is shrinking. But I love it!

Before I post pictures of Willa, I just want to show you her nursery. Jacquline’s friend painted the mural. Isn’t it adorable? She took scrapbook paper and cut out leaves. So creative!

Willa is such a happy baby. I love this next shot because she is looking at her mermaid doll like “hey, what are you doing in my chair?”

Breaking the Rules [Morris County Newborn Photographer]

If our session today is any indication of what life has in store for Miss Julia, watch out world.

Ask any newborn photographer and they’ll tell you that the best time to do newborn pictures is in the first 2 weeks of life. As early as possible so that you can get those sleepy, scrunched up poses.  Julia is just shy of 3 months old. I had no expectations about getting her to sleep for our session. I was very happy to see her all dressed and also to include mom and dad in the session. So we started out in her nursey. Look at that sweet, happy face!

After a little while, Julia started to get a bit fussy. She had a stuffy nose so mom and dad took care of the boogies.  Well Miss Julia was not a happy camper. She was plain old pissed. But it actually worked out pretty awesome for me because she got so worked up that she fell asleep. Can you believe it? I was able to do all the things I do with a 10 day old newborn with a 3 month old infant. I was thrilled!

Then she woke up and it was time for some mommy and daddy love. So sweet!

Paul and Daniela, it was so lovely to meet you both. You have a beautiful home and a beautiful daughter. Enjoy every moment!

Baby B [Morris County Newborn Photographer]

On February 18, 2010 this little bundle of joy came into this world into a family full of love. So much so that grandma and his aunts arrived at the hospital well after midnight just to sit and wait for his arrival. And wait they did. Brendan wasn’t born until 8 hours later.

Totally worth the wait wouldn’t you say?

I was warned as soon as I unpacked my camera that Brendan has a lot of  ummm … gas. Now in my experience, that’s no big deal. I get peed on and pooped on all the time, but it’s always a little shocking for new moms and dads.  So when I said I wanted to undress Baby Brendan, dad told me he was going to pee. And he was right! They were both good sports about it though.

I was also told that Mr. B is not much of a napper, but he just needed a little time that’s all. I love the way his toes are in this next picture.

Turns out that Brendan’s mom and I know a lot of the same people. She’s got fabulous taste too. I fell in love with their house as soon as I walked in. It’s absolutely gorgeous.

Being a newborn photographer is one of the hardest and most rewarding jobs. It takes a lot of time and patience but when you get images like these it is wonderful. I love meeting new moms and dads too because I can totally relate. I still remember those first few weeks as a parent. It was scary and confusing and sooooo special. I wish you both the best of luck. You’ve got a beautiful little boy!

Baby Neil Turns 1! [Morris County Child Photographer]

I remember photographing this little guy when he was only a few weeks old and now he is one! I love photographing one year-olds. I think they are so much fun. Since it was pretty warm, we went outside and I can’t tell you how happy it makes me to be able to shoot outdoors again. There is nothing like natural light!

Oh and by the way, Baby Neil will probably always be called Baby Neil, even when he is 5 years old. It’s a nickname that stuck. His daddy and I actually graduated from high school together and he’s a very talented singer. I think he actually looks just like his daddy too, even when he’s pouting!

Baby Neil is not quite walking yet but he did a great job holding on to things.

What’s so funny Baby Neil? Probably my singing. I’m not as good as daddy but I tried my best. His favorite was the ABC song.

We actually did some cake smash pictures as well, but I’ll post those tomorrow. These few are all my daughter would allow me to finish today. Jen, it was great to see you and Baby Neil again. He is so adorable!!

Disney World, Here We Come!

I am so excited to be going on vacation is just 10 more days. I can’t wait to see my youngest daughter’s face when she meets all the princesses. She is at the perfect age for this trip. She spends her days lately playing dressup, pretending to be Snow White or Belle or Cinderella.

Not to mention that fact that I could really use some sunshine. Let’s just pray Florida doesn’t have another cold snap while we’re there.

Picture Day! [Morris County Family Photographer]

This morning my little girl had her first school pictures taken. She goes to Calvary Nursery School here in town just 2 days a week and she loves it. Being the control freak that I am, I snapped a few pictures before we left just in case she was feeling shy for the camera guy.

I love this little face.

She’s getting so big. I can’t believe my baby will be 3 years old in a couple weeks. We’ll actually be in Disney the week of her birthday and I am so excited for her. She’s at the perfect age for it because she’s obsessed with playing dress up and pretending she’s a princess. I found this adorable birthday outfit from Gymboree. My camera is going to be working overtime this month!

Of course, big sister had to join in on the fun. It’s READ ACROSS AMERICA week at school so today all the kids went to school in their pajamas. She’s a big 1st grader now so on Thursday she gets to bring in a book and read to the kindergartners. She’s also about to lose another tooth. I can’t wait until it’s gone. It’s just hanging there.

Sometimes, they really do love each other!

Getting to Know Your Camera

Ever wonder what all those little pictures on your camera dial are really for? Most of you are probably familiar with the green rectangle. That is your camera’s automatic shooting mode. This means that your camera is making all the decisions. If you’d like a little more control over your images, why not experiment with some of the other settings? Here’s what they mean.

Portrait (this is the picture of the face) ~ Your camera will choose an aperture with a shallow depth of field. Having a shallow depth of field will blur your background a bit and allow your subject to stand out.

Landscape (this is the picture of the mountain) ~ Your camera is going to choose an aperture with a greater depth of field. This means that more of your image will be in focus than if you were using Portrait Mode.

Macro (this is the picture of the flower) ~ This setting allows you to get super close to your subject.

Sports (this is the picture of the running man) ~ Your camera is going to increase the shutter speed in order to catch any action that may be going on in the scene.

Night (this is the picture of a person outside under the star) ~ This setting is great for low light situations. Your camera will slow down the shutter speed in order to grab all the light in the room. You might want to use a tripod on this setting to avoid any camera shake. Super low shutter speeds are difficult to handhold.

————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Play around with all the different setting and see what kind of results you get. Having a DSLR is wonderful because you have the ability to control how your pictures come out. It just takes a lot of practice and this is a great starting point. I’ll be posting more this week about how you can get more comfortable using the different settings on your camera. Feel free to email me with any questions as well!

Good Luck!

Family [Morris County Photographer]

I was so excited to see these little munchkins today. They are my cousin’s children ~ so I guess that makes them my 2nd cousins, right? Either way, they are family and I love photographing my family. Get ready for a picture heavy post. I just couldn’t narrow it down. Normally, I choose 4 or 5 as a sneak preview and I think there are about 12!!!

The S family moved in to a new house and Jayden celebrated a big birthday this past week. He is 5 years old now! J is your typical boy ~ he loves superheroes and transformers and being flipped upside down. He also hates being kissed by his little sister.

This next one makes me giggle. Miss Keira is gazing at her big brother like he’s the best thing since sliced bread. And J just wants to be done already.

Ahhh now that’s more like it.

Before we did those brother/sister pictures, Keira took me into her new room for a little tour. She grabbed this microphone and I was hoping she’d sing for me, but no such luck.

There are a lot of instruments in the house. I’m thinking they need to start a family band. Keira could be the lead singer and J and his dad could rock the guitar.

After we played inside for a bit, it was time to brave the winter weather. It felt so good to shoot outside today. The weather was pretty decent so we walked around looking for spots to take pictures. Both kids were happy to follow me around.

Someone please get this kid into modeling. He could totally be in GAP ads.

Nothing can get between a girl and her blankie. I love this shot! I have to remember to get a picture like this with my daughter and her blankie. She carries that thing everywhere.

This was J’s first piggyback. We asked him if he’s been eating his veggies. Obviously he has!!

Love this shot of mommy and her little cowgirl.

Thanks S family!! It was great to see you all today.

First Birthday Fun! [Morris County NJ Photographer]

There is nothing I enjoy more than watching my clients grow. It feels like just yesterday I was sticking this tiny little newborn into an oversized coffee mug (I know that sounds weird, but it was an awesome shot!)

Now she’s turning 1!! Gigi was one of the few toddlers I know that actually enjoyed her birthday cupcake. She had no problem smearing the icing all over her face. I love these sessions!

FYI, if you’re interested in having a cupcake session for your child’s 1st birthday, I highly recommend having a dog around to lick up the mess!
